App Store screenshot sizes
App Store Connect accepts screenshots at a fixed set of pixel dimensions, one set per display "shelf". Uploads that are off by a single pixel are rejected, so it pays to know the exact numbers before you export.
The good news: you rarely need all of them. Apple scales a screenshot to the other shelves in the same family, so one iPhone design and one 13" iPad set cover almost every device. Two things changed with iOS 27: Apple now names the required iPhone shelf "iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display)" — the 6.3" class — and the foldable iPhone Duo has shelves of its own, required from April 2027. Below are the current dimensions, the format rules, and how to produce them without redesigning a thing.

The rules Apple enforces
- Format: PNG or JPEG, RGB colour, with no alpha channel — a transparent layer is the most common upload rejection.
- Exact pixel dimensions. App Store Connect rejects anything off by even one pixel, so export at the precise target size.
- 1 to 10 screenshots per shelf. Within a device family Connect scales one shelf to the others — the 6.3" shelf falls back to your 6.5" set if it is empty.
- iPhone Duo screenshots are required from April 2027 for any app built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later. Nothing scales into the Duo shelves — they need their own, squarer set.
- Apple Watch screenshots must use the same size consistently across every localization.
iPhone screenshot sizes
Apple's required shelf is "iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display)" — 6.3". It shares its shape with 6.9", so one design exports both; an empty shelf falls back to your 6.5" set, scaled.

iPhone Duo screenshot sizes
One shelf per display of the foldable. Required from April 2027 for apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK; until then optional. Both displays are much squarer than an iPhone (≈1.42 tall), so phone screenshots can't simply be scaled in.

App preview video sizes
Optional, up to three per shelf. 15–30 seconds, 30 fps, H.264 in an .mp4 or .mov — and the same one-shelf-covers-the-rest rule as screenshots. Apple Watch has no app preview format.

Do I need a screenshot for every iPhone size?
No. Apple requires one iPhone shelf — "iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display)", the 6.3" class — and fills the others by scaling. Export the 6.3" (1206 × 2622) and 6.9" (1260 × 2736) shelves from one design and every iPhone is covered.
Which iPhone screenshot size is required in 2026?
Apple's current spec lists "iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display)" as the required shelf: 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556 pixels in portrait. If it is empty, App Store Connect uses your 6.5" (Face ID, large) screenshots, scaled. The 6.9" shelf (1260 × 2736, 1290 × 2796 or 1320 × 2868) is still accepted and covers the large iPhones.
What size are iPhone Duo screenshots?
2007 × 2853 for the inner (unfolded) display and 1398 × 2034 for the outer display, plus the landscape versions. They are required from April 2027 for apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK, and App Store Connect doesn't scale other shelves into them. Why does my upload get rejected for transparency?
App Store screenshots must be flat RGB with no alpha channel. If your PNG carries transparency the upload fails. Flatten the image against a solid background before exporting — AppStills does this for you automatically on every export.
What is the iPhone 6.9" screenshot size?
1260 × 2736 pixels in portrait (2736 × 1260 landscape). Apple also accepts 1290 × 2796 and 1320 × 2868 for the same 6.9" shelf, so any of the three will pass validation.
How many screenshots can I upload per device?
Between 1 and 10 per shelf. Most apps use the first two or three to carry the core message, since those are what a shopper sees before tapping to expand the gallery.
Can I use one design for every size?
