Privacy Policy

AppStills is operated by Dropdev ([Org. no.]), [Registered business address], Sweden. We are the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@appstills.com.

We keep data collection to what the service needs:

• Account data — your email address and authentication identifier (email/password or Google sign-in).
• Your content — the projects you create and the images you upload to use in your screenshots.
• Onboarding answers — the short questions we ask once at sign-up (e.g. whether you build as a hobby or a business).
• Billing data — handled by our payment provider, Stripe; we receive your subscription status, not your card details.
• Strictly necessary technical data — session cookies that keep you signed in. We do not run analytics, advertising or third-party tracking.

• To provide the editor, store your projects, and render and export your screenshots.
• To operate your account, apply your plan, and provide support.
• To process payments and prevent abuse of free and paid limits.
• To improve the product based on aggregate, non-identifying usage of features.

We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the service and your account), on the basis of our legitimate interests (securing the service and preventing abuse), and, where required, with your consent (which you can withdraw at any time).

We share data only with the providers that make the service work:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database and file storage for your account and projects.
• Stripe — our Merchant of Record for checkout, billing, VAT and receipts.
• AI providers — when you use AI features (captions, translations, generated backgrounds), the text or image you submit is sent to the relevant AI provider to produce that result. We do not send them your account credentials.

We never sell your personal data.

Some of these providers process data outside the EU/EEA (e.g. in the United States). Where they do, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We keep your account and project data for as long as your account exists. When you delete a project it is removed from your workspace; when you delete your account we remove your personal data, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal or accounting obligations.

Under the GDPR you can request to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and object to certain processing. Email hello@appstills.com and we will respond within the statutory time frame. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — in Sweden, the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

We use only strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to run the checkout. Because these are essential to the service, no consent banner is required. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

AppStills is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
