How to localize App Store screenshots in minutes

People browse the App Store in their own language, and the store shows each market its own screenshots. This tutorial takes the finished Stedo set from the basics video into German, Arabic and Spanish — translated, reviewed, with German app screenshots where they matter, and exported for every market.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Add languages

    0:00

Start from a finished set: everything you design in the original language carries over to every language you add.

Open the language menu above the canvas, click Add a language, and search for it — the full App Store Connect locale set is there, right-to-left scripts included. Add as many as you like; languages are part of AppStills Pro.

  2. 2

    Translate and review

    0:27

Translate everything missing translates every headline into every language you added, in one click. Only what's missing is translated, so your own edits are never overwritten.

Switch the canvas to a language to see the whole set in it. The layout stays yours — only the words change — and a longer translation shrinks to keep the original's line breaks.

Every translation is editable in the panel: rewrite one by hand, or tap the sparkle to translate it again.

  3. 3

    Localized screenshots

    0:45

While viewing a language, drop that language's app screenshot onto a phone. It replaces the image in that language only.

Languages without their own screenshots keep the original ones, and any language can go back to the original images with To original.

  4. 4

    Check every language

    1:01

Arabic reads right to left, in a font that joins every letter. Japanese, Chinese, Hindi and other scripts get their own fonts and line breaks too.

The store check reads every language, so a translation that runs into other text is flagged before it ships.

  5. 5

    Export every language

    1:16

Export renders every size in every language into one ZIP, with a folder per language, ready to upload in App Store Connect.

Move or restyle anything later and every language follows — export again and every market is up to date.
